Biochemistry-Cell Biology Senior Scientist at Akttyva Therapeutics

As the Senior Scientist in Biochemistry-Cell Biology at Akttyva Therapeutics, you will develop/optimize cutting-edge in-vitro assays for screening among potential drug candidates, identified through the use of the AIDE360 drug discovery platform.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and conduct thermal shift assay or other format binding assays, immunoassays, western blotting and other relevant methods to screen experimentally among drug candidates.
· Develop and optimize permeability assays using an endothelial monolayer transwell system and commercially available multicell systems, modeling the air-blood barrier in the lung, to characterize lead drug candidates.
· Maintain and manipulate various cell types in support of drug screening activities and drug development.
· Lead and mentor research associates in experimental design, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
· Collaborate with computational chemist and other scientific teams to support the development of novel therapeutics.
· Analyze and interpret experimental data, presenting findings in internal meetings and external conferences.
· Stay current with the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in drug development and use of AI in drug discovery.
· Contribute to the preparation of scientific manuscripts, patent applications, and grant proposals.
· Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety protocols and maintain accurate records of all research activities.
Qualifications:
• Educational Background: A Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or other related field with about 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
• Relevant Experience:
• Strong expertise in protein chemistry and biochemical/biophysical characterization.
• Experience in standard cellular and molecular biology techniques (Cell culture, ELISA, Cell-based assays, Immunofluorescence, Western blotting, Microscopy, RNA/DNA isolation, qPCR).
• Experience with high-throughput screening.
• Proven track record of success in leading research projects and contributing to scientific publications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex biochemical/biological problems.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and documentation practices in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
• Able to work as part of a team and individually.

Research Assistant. We are looking for a B.S. / M.S. researcher, who will be working on developing novel in vitro medium- and high-throughput assays to support our drug discovery programs. The assays will involve transformed and primary cell cultures, proteins and cutting-edge organs-on-chip technologies.
